| Attendees will complete review/practice exercise to assess mastery
of training concepts (should be able to create a contact list, send
a practice broadcast message to participants' cell phones, and check
the status of the message they sent) |

5. Materials and Aids-
|
| Laptop, projector/Promethean Board, URL for SchoolMessenger on district
website, DWA ID and password to create log in |
| |

6. Procedures/Methods-
|
|
A. Introduction-
1. Introduce SchoolMessenger Parent Notification System as upgrade
from ConnectEd (previous application)
2.Pass out "SchoolMessenger 411" packet |

B. Development-
1. Direct attendees to listen and ask questions as soon as they
arise
2. Direct attendees to practice steps as they are demonstrated |

C. Practice-
1. Do Sections I and II with attendees
2. Attendees will do review/practice on their own (observe, assist
as needed)
3. Do Sections III - VI with attendees. Go back over anything that
is unclear to reinforce learning |

D. Independent Practice-
1. Attendees will do the following on their own:
-Follow the steps to create a contact list of each other in SchoolMessenger
-Add SchoolMessenger application to mobile devices
2. Follow the steps to send a broadcast message to those on the contact
list
3. Follow steps to check the status of the broadcast and delivery
results (were all messages delivered?) |

technology training
