1. RSU 18 STP 1- Students will understand the role of technology
as it applies to self education and society:
*A: Recognize the potential for human error when using technology
*B: Identify how technological developments influence one's life
*C: Examine the environmental issues related to the use of technology
*D: Describe, using examples, how communication and information networks
create a global community |

6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-
1. What is technology? What kinds of technologies do we use at school/home?
(pair up using pages to create lists of technologies at school and
home)
2. What would the world be like without technology? (With your partner
write a paragraph about what you imagine the world would be like without
technology, create a collage as a visual representation of this)

B. Development-
1. Give examples of ways that technology doesn't work because humans
make mistakes.
2. Name some environmental issues that are caused by technology.
3. How has technology created a global community. |

C. Practice-
Type a long web address in the browser, if you don't type it correctly
the website wont work.

D. Independent Practice-
1. Create collage or slide show to show technologies impact on the
environment.
2. Brainstorm ideas/activities that we can do to connect with the
world around us.
