1. Topic-
Creating 3D Assets in Zbrush

2. Content-
Students will create a working unwrapped, textured and rigged game asset ready for upload.

3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1.Watch and learn from demonstration presented by a skilled volunteer from the 3D community
2. Replicate the demonstration, adding your own touch
3. Successfully upload working asset to game engine

4. Objectives-
1.Learn basic modelling techniques in Zbrush
2. Learn basic unwrapping techniques and setting up a successful unwrap
3. Effectively texture unwrap
4. Set up units, and export ready for upload
5. Successfully upload and test asset

5. Materials and Aids-
Zbrush, Maya and Second Life

6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1. Introduce the finished product
2. Explain the purpose of the finished project
3. Explain the key points the students will be learning this lesson (Modelling, Unwrapping, Texturing and Rigging/Skinning)

B. Development-

1. Demonstration of Modelling
2. Demonstration of Unwrapping
3. Demonstration of Texturing
4. Demonstration of Skinning
5. Demonstration of Setup for game engine
6. Assistance from Volunteer - will check and assist students before they upload
7. Upload to game engine
8. Bug Testing
9. Repeat upload setup until asset is completed.

C. Practice-

1. Create a base mesh
2. Unwrap the base mesh
3. Texture the base mesh
4. Skin the base mesh to provided rig
5. Set up mesh for upload
6. Test and repeat if required

D. Independent Practice-

1. Students will be left alone to create their own vision with the base mesh during the first step. Assessment will be on correct topology and flow of mesh.
2. Students will be required to locate or make their own textures.
3. Students will be required to create their own skin as they have created their own base mesh. Accessible points include loop points, effective deformations and no unweighted vertexes.

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

Students are allowed to use similar programs such as 3dsmax or Blender if they are familiar

F. Checking for understanding-

1. Students will submit their base mesh for feedback to the volunteer
2. Students will submit their unwrap for feedback from volunteer
3. Student will submit their texture for feedback from volunteer
4. Student will submit their skin for feedback from volunteer
5. Student will submit their finished project to teacher before uploading to game engine
6. Student will present working upload to teacher to show understanding of the complete process

G. Closure-

1. Students should complete this unit with a working game asset
2. Recap on information learned regarding game assets, and show students other assets they could create in the future.
