1.Understand how to use the pen tool to create vector image in Illustrator.

2.Understand the creative process and execute creative project procedure.

3.Understand the importance of a creative brief, and how to use it to design for the needs of a client.

5. Materials and Aids-
Creative Brief, sketchbook, Internet, Adobe Illustrator
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.Students will pick a client at random from a list of clients.

2. Students will learn the general idea that clients are not always ideal, and the importance of being able to be versatile.
 

B. Development-

1.Students will be given a creative brief that they must use to research their client.
2.Students will research clients, needs, products, company, other in order to understand the company and to gather ideas for visual elements

3. Students will sketch 5 concepts of Dick Tracy's Translation image, based on what it would look like to represent your client.
 

C. Practice-

1.Students will be given the DickTracy.jpg file

2.Students will use pen tool in Illustrator to recreate file in vector format.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1. Save the original Dick Tracy Vector

2. Make duplicate file and use that to create your translation image.
 

F. Checking for understanding-

Project will be graded on:
1.Successful translation of client.
2.Understanding and good execution of pen tool.
3.All Items completed and turned in on time.
 

G. Closure-

All projects will be mounted and presented to be reviewed by class.
