A. Introduction-

Create a neatly formatted word document.
 

B. Development-

Open Word
This section explains how to open Microsoft Word.
To open word:
1. Click Start > All Programs > Microsoft Office > Microsoft Office Word.
2. Microsoft Office Word opens up with a blank word document.
Word automatically opens when you double-click the icon of a word document.


Create New Word Document

This section explains how to create a new Word document.
To create a word document:
1. Click File  New. A panel on the right displays.
2. Click the kind of document you want to create. The new document displays on the same window.


Open Word Document

This section explains how to open a Word document.
To open a word document:
1. Click File > Open. The Open dialog box displays.
2. Browse for the document you want to open.
3. Select the document and click Open. The selected document opens on the Word window.

Save Word Document

This section explains how to save a Word document.
To save a word document:
1. Click File > Save. The Save As dialog box displays.
2. Go to the location where you want to save the file.
3. Enter the File name and click Save. The document is saved as a .doc file.
Press Ctrl + S to save the Word document.
Click File > Save As to save the document with a different name or at a different location.

Close Word Document

This section explains how to close a Word document.
To close a word document:
 Click File > Close. The file is closed.
You can also close a word document by clicking the at the top right corner of the document.

Print Word Document

This section explains how to print a Word document.
To print a word document:
1. Click File > Print. The Print dialog box displays.
2. Select a printer, specify page range, number of copies and click OK. The document is printed by the selected printer.
Press Ctrl + P to open the Print dialog box.
Modify Page Setup
This section explains how to modify the page setup of a Word document.
To modify page setup:
1. Click File > Page Setup. The Page Setup dialog box displays.
2. Click the Paper tab. Select A4 as the Paper size.
3. Click the Layout tab. Select Odd Page as the Section Start.
4. Select the check boxes Different odd and even and Different first page.
5. Apply the changes to the whole document and click OK.

Create a sample document with given instructions.

1. Type a letter on word document.
2. Write an essay on word document.
3. Practice on page set up.
