2.Discussion about online Awareness
3.Ability to make a timeline using Word
 
4. Objectives-
1.Check for Agendas and Binders
2.Monitor Students as they work in pairs completing the Internet Safety Worksheet
3.Student lead discussion will determine the classrooms understanding of the topic.
4.Projector lead timeline creation/students ability to follow directions from their own workstation.

Worksheets(have late student pass out)

6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.Review "discuss" on whiteboard
2.Go over weekly reminders
3.How to make a timeline
 

B. Development-

1.Follow along reading the board by pointing to the words as you read and discuss the topics for the week
2.Draw the timeline on the board and discuss how you will make this in Microsoft Word
3.Make sure students are writing the weeks objectives/assignments in their agendas
 

C. Practice-

1.Observe as students work on their worksheet
2.when most of the class has completed, encourage them to check out the other sections for about 10 minutes
3.Break into discussion and go through the Q's(as long as there is participation continue)
4.Go over timeline creation(especially with 4th period)
 

D. Independent Practice-

1.Paired worksheet completion
2.Self-guided timeline creation, as I present they practice the skill
3.AVID agenda check(visually as I go over weekly goals)
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1.partner worksheets will help those students with lower reading levels
2.video clips on the website mirror the important messages of Internet Safety
3.Class discussion and 4-square Vocabulary building allows for multiple levels of student knowledge to be expressed and accounted for.
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1.Quiz on Internet safety(multi-leveled:Multiple Choice,Short answer, and fill-in-the-blank)
2.Agenda check holds students accountable for weeks goals(meets AVID organization standard)
3.Check screens after projector demonstration of timeline to check class ability to follow along and successfully create a timeline
 

G. Closure-

1.History Timeline (in association with Narrative Essay in Social studies)
2.Review of Quiz, show graph of class scores and the use of Functions: Sum,Mean, Median,Mode,etc. . .leads into following week of graphing data use of functions in Excel.
