1. The students will produce a puzzle piece on KidPix that depicts the concept of peace utilizing the tools indicated by the teacher

6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.Students have previously had the book "Peace Begins with You" read and we held a discussion about what it means to be Peaceful and World Peace.
2. Teacher will review our discussion briefly.
 

B. Development-

1. Students will log into KidPix by signing in with their name.
2. Students will wait for a teacher demonstration while watching their computer monitor.
3. Teacher will demonstrate KidPix tools including the "Idea Machine" on how to get their puzzle template.
4. Teacher will demonstrate/review tools and explain which tools are to be used for the project.
 

C. Practice-

Students will open the puzzle piece in the "Idea Machine" as the teacher states the directions
 

D. Independent Practice-

Students will begin to create their puzzle piece using the defined tools that were previously described.
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

Teacher will circulate and offer guidance when necessary. Activity is open ended for creative needs.
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1. Student will successfully create, save and print the puzzle piece according to the directions provided
2. Students will verbalize questions when necessary
 

G. Closure-

1. Save project successfully.
2. Return equipment to proper position and exit per classroom procedures.
