3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1.Students will create personal learning networks by creating their own blogs.
2.Students will use Netvibes to subscribe to their classmates' blogs.
3.Students will learn the skills needed to be an effective blogger.
4. Objectives-
1.Students will learn to engage the reader in the material.
2.Students will learn how prompt stimulating conversation.
3.Student will learn how the debate a topic and how to moderate a debate.
5. Materials and Aids-
Computer, students own blog, Netvibes account
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.Go to Blogger.com and set up a blog account.
2. Create a Netvibes account at Netvibes.com


B. Development-

1.After creating the Netvibes account click on create or submit button in the navigation bar.
2.Choose create a Blog/News widget and then enter the feed URL into the text box and click on the next button.

C. Practice-

1.On the following page, enter all the information that you would like to convey about the feed.
2.Then choose to publish the widget to the bionetwork by clicking on the next step button.
3.A new link to the widget should now be displayed.

D. Independent Practice-

1.Add the Netvibes widget to your blog.
2.Copy and paste the Netvibes link in a new browser window.
3.Then click on the share link in the widget sidebar, you will then be directed to a new page where you can customize your widget.

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

Not Applicable

F. Checking for understanding-

1.Account should established for each student at blogger.com
2.Account should established for each student at Netvibes.com
3.A properly coded Widget should be properly displayed on each students blog.

G. Closure-

1.Once you have customized your widget preferences you can go to the bottom of the page and retrieve the widget code.
2.Paste the code into your blog website for the widget to be displayed.
7. Evaluation-
1.Students should be able to independently establish each of the required accounts.
2.Students should be able to effectively moderate online debates.
