Students use non-
traditional thinking and various techniques to create
two dimensional artworks with a message. Students create
an artist's statement to explain the artwork.

The Student demonstrates
deficient knowledge of a variety of techniques which
can be used in working with their art mediums. He or
she does not demonstrate new insights and working methods,
and has insufficient knowledge of the uses and development
of the medium. The message within the work does not
add artistically to the work. The artist's statement
is simple, a few sentences which may or may not explain
the intention of the artwork.

The student will demonstrate
developing knowledge of variety of techniques which
can be used in working with their art mediums. He or
she will also demonstrate some insights and working
methods, and some knowledge of the uses and development
of the mediums. The message within the work is evident,
not artistically applied within the composition. The
artist's statement is simple, a few sentences which
explains the intention of the artwork.

she will indicate knowledge of some new insights and
working methods, and some knowledge of the uses and
development of the mediums. The message within the work
is artistically applied within the composition and the
message goes with the images. The artist's statement
is a paragraph and thoroughly explains the intention
of the artwork

The student will demonstrate
exemplary knowledge of a variety of techniques which
can be used in working with their art mediums. Demonstration
of new insights and working methods, and some historic
knowledge of the uses and development of mediums are
essential. The message within the work is artistically
applied, is integral to the artwork and delivers a thought
provoking message. The artist's statement is an in-depth
explanation of the image and explanation of how the
message applies to the overall artwork.

Students will make
continuous daily progress on their collage with a message
artwork. An artist's statement will be written about
the artwork.

Day One - The message/statement
is written in my sketchbook for review and have selected
all the pictures and materials needed to start the artwork.

Day Two - All images
selected are trimmed and have started gluing them to
the posterboard.
|
Day Three - All images
are glued to the posterboard and have started to add
the message to the image.
|
Day Four -Everything
is completed on the artwork. The images are glued and
lettering is glued to the posterboard. Artist's statement
is written
