Students will be able to dribble a ball with control along a designated route and pass the ball with accuracy to a partner.
Student is not looking in the correct place. The pass is not accurate at all. Control is lost around obstacles when dribbling. The student uses the incorrect part of the foot when kicking (ex. the toes) and dribbling (ex. the toes). The dribble is kicked very far in front of the body.
Student looks down often when dribbling and often at the target when passing. The pass is somewhat accurate. Control is sometimes lost around obstacles when dribbling. Contact is sometimes made with the correct part of the foot during dribbling and passing. The dribble is kicked far in front of the body, but there is some control.
Student usually keeps the head up while dribbling and down when passing. They follow through towards the target and the pass arrives at an appropriate speed within reachable space of the target most of the time. The dribble does not go more than 5 yards in front of the student and obstacles are navigated with control, but some slowing. Contact is made with the correct part of the foot during dribbling and passing.

The dribble does not go more than 5 yards in front of the student and obstacles are almost always navigated without loosing control. Contact is always made with the correct part of the foot during dribbling and passing.
____
Students will be able to begin dribbling after receiving a pass from a partner, maintaining the ball within 5 yards.
The student does not traps the ball and loses control when they initially receive the pass. The student seldom dribbles using the inside, outside, or instep of the foot. The ball is not controlled within 5 yards and taps are not gentle. The student is always looking down at the ball.
The student traps the ball sometimes, but it significantly disrupts the flow of movement. The student always dribbles using the inside, outside, or instep of the foot. The ball is occasionally controlled within 5 yards using one foot. The student will look down the field every one in a while.
The student traps the ball and immediately begins dribbling with slight disruption to the flow of movement. The student mostly dribbles using the inside, outside, or instep of the foot. The ball is always controlled within 5 yards using gentle taps and one or feet. The student is mostly looking down the field.
The student traps the ball and immediately begins dribbling with little disruption to the flow of movement. The student always dribbles using the inside, outside, or instep of the foot. The ball is always controlled within 1-5 yards using gentle taps and both feet. The student is always looking down the field.
____
Students will be able to pass the ball when cued as they are dribbling down field.
When cued from dribbling, the student will pass, but it stops their movement. They look up at the target when making contact with the ball. The follow through is limited and not towards the target and the pass is usually too short or too long and not accurate. Contact is mostly made with the toes when passing and they only can use one foot to pass.
Student is able to pass when cued from dribbling, but it significantly slows their movement. They occasionally keep their head down and focused on the ball when passing, but usually look at the target. The follow through is sometimes towards the target. The pass is usually short or long and not within reachable space of the target. Contact is made with the toes or other foot regions when passing and one foot is usually favored.
