Represents and solves problems involving multiplication and division
I can use counters to find products. I can use counters to equally group. I can use a multiplication table to find products. I can use a number line to skip count. I know what it means to do repeated addition.
I can draw arrays to find products. I can draw arrays to find quotients. I can draw pictures to equally share so I can find a quotient. I can begin to use a number line to show repeated addition for multiplication. I can begin to use a number line to show repeated subtraction to show division. I can solve most multiplication and division problems by writing an equation. I can draw a tree diagram with assistance to show combinations. I can use the multiplication table to find products up to 100 and to find unknown factors. I can begin to use the multiplication table to find unknown number in a division equation.
I can write an addition equation that represents a multiplication equation. I can use an array to write two multiplication equations. I can write an equation to represent and solve a problem. I can find the number of combinations that are possible in a real life situation. I can use models to find a quotient by drawing equal groups. I can find products by skip counting. I can find the unknown factor up to 10. I can solve division problems by skip counting backwards and by using a number line. I can use models to find products. I can find products by doubling a known fact. I can find quotients by drawing arrays.
I can perform all of the tasks listed in the Accomplished Level, and I can also solve multi step equations involving multiplication and division up to 100. I can begin to multiply two digit numbers by one, with and without regrouping. I can begin to divide two digit numbers by one using DMSBD
____
Understands properties of multiplication and the relationship between multiplication and division.
I can write two related facts for multiplication and division. I can show I understand the Commutative Property. I know that there are Properties of Multiplication that help me find products and quotients.
I can write related facts for multiplication and division problems. I can use some of the Multiplication Properties to help me show the relationship between multiplication and division. I can use the multiplication chart to show related facts. I can find the quotient and the product using drawings. I can name a few of the Multiplication Properties, but I'm not sure exactly what they are sometimes.
I can use the Commutative Property of Multiplication to write two multiplication equations for the same product. I can solve division problems by skip counting backwards with no assistance. I can find the unknown number in division problems. I can use the Distributive Property to multiply two numbers. I can use the Associative Property of Multiplication to multiply three factors. I can find products to multiply problems by using known facts.
I have mastered all of the learning goals from the Accomplished Level, and I can describe properties and relationships of multiplication and division by explaining in detail, illustrate accurately, and extend to provide examples of more complex division and multiplication problems.
