Participating Respectfully
|
I don't usually listen
to other and I don't think about what they are saying;
I am not always positive when I speak; I interrupt often,
or do not talk at all; I do not use the talking stems.
|
I am just beginning
to listen and think about what others are saying; I
often forget to wait my turn to talk; I am not always
positive in discussions; I talk without thinking sometimes
and do not use the talking stems.
|
I sometimes listen
to others and think about what they are saying; I usually
wait my turn to speak and participate in discussions;
I am positive; I sometimes use talking stems to help
me begin.
|
I always listen to
others in art class, think about what they are saying,
and build on their ideas; I am positive; I wait my turn
to speak; I use talking stems to help me begin.

Making Connections
|
I don't see the connection
between this learning and any other learning. I don't
know why we are looking at someone else's artwork.
|
I don't usually see
a connection to what we are doing to other areas or
to earlier learning in art; I just try to copy the artist's
work, or I don't really pay much attention to it.
|
I sometimes connect
current learning to prior learning or learning in other
areas; I sometimes use the work of other artists as
inspiration.
|
I connect current learning
in art to things we have learned already, or what I
am learning in other classes and I share that understanding
with others; I learn from what other artists do and
use that understanding when creating my own artwork.

Thinking and Exploring
|
I always go with my
first idea in art. I don't worry about making it better
once I begin.
|
I usually go with my
first or second idea in art. I don't usually wonder
about how to make it better, or make any changes once
I begin my project.
|
I usually explore more
than one option before beginning a project; I usually
think about how it's going and make at least one small
change to my original plan.
|
I always explore at
least three different ideas or options when beginning
a new project; I reflect on what I am doing and often
make changes to make it better.
