Notes and reflections, if found at all, are messy, incomplete, and have no personal comments by the student. Drawings, if found, are not labeled or marked in any way so difficult to understand. Student does not demonstrate any understanding of the material with personal questions and answers. Does not get any material missed when absent. Overall quality of the notebook is poor.
2 Objectives.dates are written for most entries, but some are missing. Notes and reflections are sometimes hard to read, are messy, and not easy to follow. Not many drawings found; those that are present are not labeled or marked, and very few personal comments are made. Notes are incomplete or missing. Few, if any, comments are made by the student to help with better understanding of the material. Seldom gets missed material if absent from peers or Dr. B. Few, if any, personal questions and answers seen in the notebook. Barely does what is requested in the notebook...lots of missing information. Few reflections found; hard to read and understand.
3 Most of the objectives/dates are written for each entry. Notes and reflections are written neatly. Drawings are labeled and marked. Some personal questions and answers are found throughout the notebook. Student shows good understanding of the material by copying complete notes, and sometimes adding personal comments for better understanding. If absent, most of the time gets missed material from peers. Does what is asked to do for the notebook with some personal comments. Reflections are thoughtful and easy to understand.
4 Objective/date clearly written daily. Drawings are marked and well labeled with personal comments. Student writes down own questions and answers. Notes and reflections are very neatly written. Student shows excellent understanding of material by not only copying notes, but adding personal comments for better understanding. If student is ever absent, still manages to get notes from another student or Dr. B. Student goes well above and beyond what he/she is asked to do in the notebook.
