2. Content-
*Art: Art is the process or product of deliberately arranging elements in a way to affect the senses or emotions. It encompasses a diverse range of human activities, creations, and modes of expression, including music, literature, film, sculpture, and paintings. ..
 
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1.To introduce the class to one another

2.Gives me and the students' a better understanding of what they expecting from this class.

3. Gets the students involved when choosing assignments
 
4. Objectives-
1.To understand what type of prior knowledge, if any, that the student have about visual arts and art room management.
 
5. Materials and Aids-
Pencil and Paper
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.Student will receive the handout/survey with five (5) questions about what they already know or want to know about art.

2. Students are to answer the questions truthfully.

3. After answering the questions a class discussion will follow and be used a great way to introduce themselves to the class and teacher.
 

B. Development-

Questions are as follows:

1. Do you like to draw, paint, color, or take pictures? Yes/NO...if yes, explain which one and why.

2. Is this your first year taking an Art class? yes/no

3. What is your definition of Art and what does "ART" mean to you?

4. What are your interests or hobbies"

5. If you could pick one project to do in this Art/Art History Class, what would it be?
 

C. Practice-

1.Students can either take handout home or complete it during class.

*If students are completing handout in class, I would allow 20 to 30 mins to complete to give the student time to really think about the questions in detail.*
 

E. Checking for understanding-

Classroom discussion
 

F. Closure-

Taking from each person handout and making the class more person when it come to what they already know, personal interest, and hobbies.
