2.Explain hazards of unhealthy living/diseases.

1.Pass out practice quiz on what we went over.
2.Have kids switch quizzes.
3.Grade quizzes together and discuss each answer.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1.Homework - Write down five ways they can live a healthier lifestyle.
2.Homework - Have kids do a physical activity at home for a least 30 minutes a day and record the activity.
3.Homework - Essay on how their progress has improved their health.
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1.Short movie on effects of drugs, smoking and alcohol.
2.Ask questions and pass out candy for correct answers.
3.Have kids form groups of three to formulate a strategy to reduce drug usage in high school. Have them discuss strategy with rest of class.
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1.Pass out test on material covered.
2.Grade homework and test
3.Ask if kids still have any questions and go over most missed answers on test.
 

G. Closure-

1.Explain the importance of keeping up their new healthy lifestyle.
2.Pass out evaluation so kids can grade the teacher based on how much they retained and the teaching methods used.
