6. Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
1.Teacher will introduce the cover of the book. Students will be
expected to think, pair and share what they can gather from the title
and cover picture. |

|
B. Development-
1.Read the book to the students. Students will participate by pointing
out common and proper nouns, as well as verbs in the nonfiction piece.
2.Students will ask questions pertaining to what direction will come
next.
3.Students will be shown the completed project model. |
|
|
C. Practice-
1.Students will use the sticky notes to identify French sight words,
nouns and verbs.
2.Students will follow along and do the actions as described in the
book. |

|
D. Independent Practice-
1.When the story is over, students will be put into 4 groups of
3. They will each be given a bristol board, a smaller version of the
book, markers, and the information sheets.
2-Students will need to divide the work between them. They will need
to put into order the directions instructed in the book, the ingredients
used, as well as draw an image of what they believe would be the finished
product. They will need to work cohesively in order to complete the
project. |

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-
1. Students will be working with other students in order to complete
this project. Each group will have a copy of the book to use as a
guideline when putting the ingredients and directions in order. Students
that have been accommodated on an IEP will be given first choice as
what part of the project they would like to complete. |

|
F. Checking for understanding-
1.Once completed, students will present their finished project.
They will need to use the proper learned vocabulary, as well as take
turns presenting their information. |
|
|
G. Closure-
1.Students will complete a number of activities related to the book.
These will be spread out over the 5 days of the shared reading piece. |
|
|
7. Evaluation-
|
1.Students will be evaluated on the following:
- group partnership
- work distribution
- final presentation
- participation during the shared reading. |
